The Artful Awards celebrate creativity and impactful visual storytelling through the use of a variety of skills and artistic techniques. Images must fall within the genre of family, maternity and newborn art and can be entered into any of the categories below.
3 images in total can be submitted per person. You can choose which category/s you would like to submit the images in. An additional 3 images can be submitted by Gallery Lane members & 3 images for Story Keeper customers.

Founding Co-Director of Gallery Lane Magazine, Claire is a celebrated photographer for her generous approach to education.
Her years of experience in the lifestyle photography field have landed her where she is today with a success photography business and heading a photography community.

JUDGING CRITERIA
Images will be judged anonymously. No names will be visible to the judging panel to keep things fair for all artists. Awards will be based on the following criteria:
Story & emotion
How the artist uses a combination of light, creative techniques, composition, editing and story to create an image that moves and/or inspires and is personally identifiable.
Tonality & technical execution
How the artist executes & balances light and shadow, the distribution of colours, the overall harmony of hue, saturation, and exposure of the photograph.
Composition
How the artist uses the elements within the image to compose a visually striking, interesting and well balanced image that draws the viewer in.
Light
How the artist uses light to enhance, technically or creatively, the atmosphere and story within the image.

The awards open for submissions on August the 5th and close on September the 2nd 2024.
Winners will be announced mid September via email and the Gallery Lane and Story Keeper social channels.

An additional 4 images can be submitted by Gallery Lane Subscribers & Story Keeper Preset users.

Sharing my knowledge of 10+ years running a successful photog business and nurturing others in their craft is a massive privilege and something I love doing! I’m all about community over competition because I wholeheartedly believe that helping other creatives build their own thriving businesses raises the bar for our industry as a whole.
Together with my husband, Ori, we run the Story Keeper. We have a thriving community of thousands of Story Keepers across the globe & industry-leading presets and resources that are known and loved by many professional photographers.
